Sapphire

Sapphire is considered one of the most important and most beautiful gemstones in the world. It is known for its characteristic blue color, the result of a mixture of oxides of aluminum, iron and titanium. Large sapphires are rare and have their own names, such as the "Midnight Star", a 116-carat black star sapphire.
